What Is CarbinoxamineCarbinoxamine works as an antihistamine that causes the chemical histamine to be within the body. When natural histamine like this is produced it makes a variety of symptoms like watery eyes, sneezing, runny noses and itching that varies with people. Carbinoxamine is used because it can treat those symptoms plus other allergy symptoms. The common cold can also be treated with Carbinoxamine. Children that are two years of age and younger can not take Carbinoxamine because of deaths that have happened to the younger children when on this medication. If a patient is breast feeding or might become pregnant they should talk with the doctor first before using this. When a patient has a stomach ulcer, overactive thyroid, glaucoma, heart disease or asthma they should also first talk with the doctor before using Carbinoxamine. Carbinoxamine side effects include but not limited to: - fainting - dizziness - being light-headed - wheezing - not urinating as much - pale skin - pounding heart beat - easy bruising - upset stomach - lack of coordination - blurred vision - dry mouth - stuffy nose - sleep problems If any of these side effects happen the doctor should be notified. When a patient is not feeling right at any point when taking Carbinoxamine the doctor should also be notified because not all of the side effects are listed. |
