Can peanut allergy occur in infants?

Peanut allergies in babies usually develop during their first year of birth. Even though children have many other types of food allergies, peanut allergies are most dangerous because the kids have to deal with it all through their lives. Peanut allergy reactions are range from minor reactions to dangerous hypersensitivity reaction such as anaphylaxis. Even if your baby experiences a minor reaction, then there is a chance for severe reaction in the future, so it is very important to monitor your baby carefully.

Some of the peanut allergic reactions are wheezing, skin rash, diarrhea, or other mild to moderate reaction. These reactions are very minor reaction which later develops into severe reactions. These mild reactions occur when your child exposed to peanuts for first time and the more severe reactions occur when your child eat peanuts or peanut products for second time. If you have a family history of asthma, hay fever, food allergies or skin disease then your baby is at high risk of getting this allergy.

The peanut allergic reactions are very life-threatening and even cause death. It is also important to confine that peanuts are not really nuts. So, even if your kid is not allergic to walnuts or other varieties of nuts, he/she still may have peanut allergy.
