What are the signs indicating the occurrence of allergies?

Yes, in most of the cases it is seen that allergy is contributing in triggering symptoms like hives. Allergies may be different. Some people feel that they had hives because of some medication. Some people think that food allergy has led to hives. Of course, allergy may be one of the causes of hives. But, it is important to note that if hives is due to food allergy then in that case, symptoms of hives must appear within a few minutes of eating that food. And if some medication might have caused hives then the allergy will appear after taking 1-2 doses. In most of the cases NSAID’s are associated with chronic hives. And some people get hives as an allergic reaction to mold, dust and environmental pollens. But these do not cause chronic or very serious hives.

Viral infection may also lead to hives in some people. Hives due to viral infection is very common among children. Infections like strep throat, urinary tract infection may cause hives. Studies indicate that even stress can also be one of the factors triggering hives. Even certain metabolic disorders like some autoimmune diseases as well as malfunction in thyroid gland contribute in occurrence of hives.
