Brompheniramine works as a antihistamine. It can block any occurring histamines that might be chemical in the body. Often times it is needed to help with rashes, watery eyes, itching or other allergy symptoms. It can also be used for the common cold.

When using Brompheniramine patients should be cautious when they are operating any kind of machinery, driving, or doing other activities that might be hazardous. If any dizziness happens then these activities should be avoided. If the patient is having alcohol they must do so with caution because it can increase dizziness plus drowsiness when using Brompheniramine.

Patients should talk to their doctor first before using Brompheniramine if they have:

- a stomach ulcer

- glaucoma

- pressure in the eye

- asthma

- a prostate that is enlarged

- problems with urination

- bladder problems

- hypertension

Side effects with Brompheniramine include but not limited to:

- dizziness

- nausea

- headache

- upset stomach

- body aches

- sleep problems

- blurred vision
