What is allergic conjunctivitis?Allergic alveolitis is a condition which affects the alveoli of a human’s lungs. This condition gradually reduces the lungs’ overall potential to function and pull in the air at the time of breathing. This condition is most common among those who own birds. This is because the harmful irritant in the birds, bird dander, invades into the lungs and interfere with the normal functioning of the lungs. Thus the presence of this irritant for a long period of time in the lungs give rise the symptoms observed in this respiratory disorder. However, this condition can also trigger due to one’s prolonged exposure to organic dust and other air borne allergens. Therefore, those whose occupation demands constant and persistent exposure to irritating or allergy causing chemicals are most susceptible to allergic alveolitis. One of the very first symptoms observed immediately after the progression of this condition is high fever. This fever, however, fades away after a few hours. Some other most commonly observed symptoms are difficulties in breathing, dry cough, excessive sweating and wheezing. Furthermore, in severe cases, the fever may persist for longer periods and may or may not be accompanied by chills. In addition, the existence of medical conditions like pneumonia, farmer’s lung may also lead to the progression of this allergy. |
